Mercedes-Benz 230 SL found after 30 years submerged Pictures
Photographed at the Techno Classica Essen by our friend Derek Scott, this Mercedes-Benz 230 SL spent 30 years submerged before its discovery.
The Neckar is a river that rises in Germany’s Black Forest and passes through Stuttgart and Heidelburg before joining the mighty Rhine. It’s a very bad place to store a car, especially when the car is going to be left for three decades or so.

It’s now owned by the SL Club Pagode, based in Germany. Vermonters have pretty much seen it all when it comes to rusty cars, but this one held us in a state of horrified fascination.[/QUOTE]
I'm amazed they could pull it out without the whole car disintegrating. The lead in the paint must've killed quite a bit of fish lol. I wonder what they're gonna do with it and why was it at the bottom of the river in the first place?

I was thinking the same thing! I wonder how they managed to get it out of the water without it falling to pieces. Crazy how it started to totally rust away like that.
