Suburu completely dropped the ball with the new Impreza/WRX and Mitsu and the EVO are gonna eat it like no tomorrow.

Guess we'll have to wait for a formal comparison test on them....I imagine that Road and Track or Car and Driver magazine will probably be among the first. The Evo has traditionally outhandled the former WRX/STi, but at the cost of an extremely harsh and noisy ride....one of the worst I've seen on a compact sedan (see my review last year of the Evo). I also test-drove a standard WRX several years ago but did not do a write-up, and have not directly reviewed a recent STi.

My brother has an older Impreza and loves it.....thinks it is the best car he has ever owned.

I'm sure glad we picked up the 2006 Impreza. This new one is not easy on the eyes at all!

Bit, I just put in an order for some Hella Supertones will put a sound clip when they are installed.

Poor WRX, not too many kids are gonna buy this one. The new EVO is going to dominate this rendition of the WRX in terms of sales, on looks alone.

Somebody at Subaru should be fired. That one should have never left the drawing board.

what exactly is wrong with sedan? I think it looks better than before...

but the hatchback? Its truly awful. Looks like Hyundai Pony from 90's... awful.

You think that looks BETTER than the current one?

Here, take a look at the car from several different angles: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-subaru-impreza/

The hatchback looks like a grown-up Kia with LED lights, and the sedan looks like a new Corolla with a body kit, and a hood scoop.

The youth are going to really dislike it. So, now the WRX is going to have to make it's living amongst adults who need/want 4-wheel drive in a sedan, and that's a shrinking pool of customers since crossover vehicles are sweeping the market offering more utility.

Subaru's going to redesign this one fast, watch. LOL
