Hope he's alright.
Exactly. That's what carbon fiber does... it doesn't bend... it shatters. Steel and aluminum are desinged to bend but not break.

It's evident that this was a lapse of judgement, but I do hope that he and his passenger are ok.

I do pray for the driver and his girlfriend, but the pic posted on the Z forum pretty much sums the driver up.

Totaling a car in 3 days of ownership probably isn't a record, but it's damn impressive. He should be proud of his stupidity, because he's a rare breed.

Exactly! the Enzo did what it was designed to do.. break apart and have the passenger compartment stay in tact.
The Z on the other hand probably went thru soo much force upon impact that what ever it hit cut it open like a hot knife thru butter… not what it was suppose to do.

The 350Z people are pretty rude.. yes, he made a mistake but no way they are calling him idiot when he is suffering...
Guess that's the difference between Lexus owner and Nissan.. maybe I shouldn't say that but... ohh well...

and I always tell people coming from FWD cars with less power, be careful driving powerful RWD cars... you do not used to the control and power. Drive responsibly. Skills take time to master, you don't think you got a killer car and you automatically become a race driver...

I would bash him whatever he was driving.

When you race on the streets, you're not only putting yourself in danger, but you're risking innocent peoples' lives too.

I don't care if a racing idiot gets himself injured or even killed, but don't put others' lives on the line.

Leave racing for the track.

Very very lucky to survive this, let's just hope the driver learned a valuable lesson.

From that one guy who worked with him he said he has brain injuries which pretty much mean he will never be the same again. Thats truly sad. Thats also the reason why my insurence is high because of drivers like him(i'm 19) but i'm NOT going to bash the guy on a forum, I guess i'm to mature for that.

I wonder how the guy driving the BMW feels?

wow...

Once in a while we all do stupid thinga (myself included). It only needs to happen once and our lives can change forever. Death, lifetime injuries, Jail time and ect,. Even in the heat of the moment, we need to try and remind ourselves of the consequences everytime we hit pedal to the metal.

I've learned to drive on RWD - a 1983 Cressida.

But still, KNOW YOUR LIMITS. That's the morale here. They are many a times I had to mash it, but I backed off before it got dangerous.
