Which is why I said they have to focus on who they are actually competing against, and not LS460.

If you want pork neck, buy pork neck, if you want porterhouse, buy porterhouse. If you want a Mickies Big Mouth or Pabst buy one, it's not a Premium beer even if you put it in a German stein. If you want Mad Dog 20-20 go get it, it gets you buzzed like a Stags Leap '03 but in the morning you'll know the difference. Everclear vs. Single Malt scotch..you get it.

Exactly. Buy one of TODAY'S Hyundais......and you will KNOW the difference between now and then.

Ten years ago you got stale hamburger......today you get that porterhouse.

LOL, just saw this commercial the other day and the Azzera
looks like a dog turd next to the LS.

Their adds of the Santa Fe next to the Land Rover are equally
obnoxious

if they said they were the best of the sub 20-30 range they would get more respect than saying they're a Lexus quality vehicle.

Some of you guys forget that at one point in time, toyota and honda were in hyundai's shoes being the cheap, condescended on, lower quality underdog. They were underestimated and now are at the top of the market. Dont think the competition out there cant do the same.

not really... you cant compare Hyundai and Toyota like that. Very different sales methods to start with. And it seems they have believed their own hype, something that Toyota was not found guilty of yet.

Funny enough, if you talk to Toyota corporate guys about Hyundai, they are full of praise. They dont really look down at anyone, ever.

Hyundai is #3 on the J.D. Power overall quality ratings...just behind #2 Lexus.

That dog turd sure doesn't smell like one.

Thats true, they are quality cars now, not in 2000 and not when they came to the Canadian shores (pre-US). They were cardboard firewalled parts shedders.

When the 1980's vintage Hyndai Excel debuted (it actually was a rebadged Mitsubishi Precis), I wouldn't even give it THAT much credit.

The 1987 Hyundai Excel and the 1984 Pontiac Fiero, quality-wise, were the two worst new cars I ever reviewed. I won't take the time to rehash how poorly they were built.

Hyundai actually DID make some quality vehicles by 2000....I'd say the turning point, when they stopped building junk, was first noticeable with the all-new 1997 Tiburon. The improved quality then gradually spread across the board, to the point where today's Hyundais are completely unrecognizable, quality-wise, from those of 10 years ago.

I was on the floor bawlin' when I saw that stupid ad.... and was gonna post, ..but ya'll beat me to it.

If you GAVE me a Hyundai... I'd sell flatbed it to the nearest dealership and sell it instantly.... I will NEVER purchase such a vehicle... quality over junk inthe past or not...

No class.... No style.... No originality ( Kia & Hyundai are the knock off kings )... No innovation... No status.....

If you valeted that car... they'd probably park it in someone else's parking garage.... and it for sure wouldn't get front row parking with the Porsche's, Lambo's... Lexus's, Bimmers, and Benzes.
