AHhh nooooo you missed out on the xenon headlights (with angel eyes)!!! . But that aside, nice ride and congrats on the decision. The automatic transmission is much better in sport drive mode (DS) so I recommend you use that if fuel economy isn't a huge deal. In normal D, it likes to start off in 2nd gear and occasionally skips back to 1st, resulting in a "hesistation". Now, the hardest part is the break-in period (like no higher than 100mph or 4500rpm)

P.S- How is the steering a "bad" thing? It's not japanese, sorry. But it is very well-weighted and has good feedback (if a tad less so than the E46 steering). I've driven the 325i/328i many times and palming it in the parking lot is certainly very possible, especially considering the fact I can do the same (sometimes) in my X3.

When you turn the car and shift it from park to drive, move it to the left and elave it there...the gauge cluster screen should now say DS. If you move the lever up or down it goes into "manual shift" mode...

Sport mode on the 328i is just a mode in the transmission. Normally you slide the shift lever striaght down to D. Then push the lever to the left. The gear indicator (between the speedo and tach) should say "DS". You will notice a difference in shifting rpms and torque converter behavior.

If you wish to shift manually, just push it up/down for shifts. Read the owner's manual........it's great stuff
