Classic Jaguar **pics**
So I happen to be in the area and saw this classic Jaguar. I love vintage sports cars. It had a Mille Miglia sticker on it.
I apologize for cellcamera....it was all I had with me.

Elizabeth, that Jag was a rare bird, indeed - thanks for sharing! I think that may be a LHD XK120 that was modded up to club racer standards. It is still one of the most beautiful vehicles ever made. Sir Jeffery Lyons brought in help from the Bristol Aeroplane Company, one Malcolm Sayer, to apply his knowledge of aircraft construction to a proposed LeMans entry.
The XKC was built from '50 to '53 - and only about 54 examples were said to have been produced. It differed from the production XK120, sporting Sayer's lightweight tube frame and an all-aluminum body (not to mention a 50% higher sticker price).
Initially built for the LeMans circuit, a number of wealthy clients ordered these famous machines for fiddling around their estates. I believe Harrah's collection purchased one some twenty years ago and did a beautiful restoration on it. Chassis number XK006 was recently sold at auction in Paris for over $1.6 million, but it was not one of the racing cars - an actual LeMans car is thought to be worth well over $3 million.
