if they are only going to sell 150 in GB, even if they sell ten times that here in the US its still going to be a hard car to find. big surprise right?

 

Just b/c the U.K has 60 mill people does not mean the wealth is like the United States. I get EVO, CAR and Top Gear, 150 sounds about right for a car that might cost 100k there.

In other news the pound is doing VERY well, its great for them to come here but we would taking a pounding (lol pun) if we visit the U.K.

IS GS SC LS and RX
the SC will be gone and replaced in 3yrs by either the LF-A or IS-vert
the GS, LS, and RX already have hybrid powertrains. All that's left is a IS-h which could come from the GS-h

 

Read the article carefully. UK Lexus sales are only a small fraction of US sales. Currently, the word is that the US will receive an annual allocation of at least 1000 IS-F models, although I predict it could be closer to 2000.

And SICK, doesn't Lexus sell the SC in the UK as well? Even if it's only an IS hybrid, still makes it a bit strange. I didn't think Lexus would be making an IS or a potential SC hybrid.

 

Where did you hear the SC would be gone? From all current accounts, there IS already a next-gen SC almost done development. An IS convertible would be too downmarket to replace the SC, and the LF-A definitely will not replace the SC.

 

Maybe he means the UK lineup will drop the SC...and instead offer the LF-A as its coupe model...trading a luxury coupe for an exotic.

Ah, that makes a lot more sense. But then, if the next-gen SC will be a global model as I believe it will be, why not continue selling it in the UK?

 

I've heard there will be a next SC too other than the LF-A, & I think it will be a globally available car including the UK ...

 

Yeah the business case for the SC would be stronger I think in the UK and elsewhere; one review said that the SC 430 had several hundred preorders before debut in the UK.

 

Yeah the CAR magazine listed the SC430 as "wait list" for a few years, I don't think they had enough allocation for the U.K.
