Default BMW unveils CS Concept @ Shanghai Auto Show

BMW used the Shanghai Auto Show to unveil its BMW CS Concept, a car that is not only sexy in its shape, but significant in its being: This car points the design path for all future BMWs to come out of American designer Chris Bangle's studio. Yes, the flame surfacing of its body continues (a much derided and now much copied look), but with more flowing lines.

I like the general shape/lines of the car, but not necessarily the details ...

Wow, I nearly threw up when I saw it...

Bangle continues down the same abyss of hideousness.

Looks like a Dodge Charger and BMW M6 double teamed a Aston Rapide.

That is a thing of Beauty!

Huge gills (very Porsche-like), nice streamlined roofline (very Aston-like, although the front windshield can be a little more raked), and a very design-savvy interior that makes current BMW interiors look outdated (which they are).

Yet, still, THAT DAMN i-DRIVE!!! Where's the Nav?

Interior Audi
Exterior is a cross between Aston Martin and Lexus.

Very very sporty looking for a large car, I'm not in love but IMO looks much better than the current 7. Not bad, IMO.

Looks like BMW has not joined "grill wars" for the largest grill.

Looks like it previews several cars, including the next 7 and rumoured Z9.

Some of the styling details and flowing lines are very similar to Lexus L-Finesse styling. That character line that merges into the rear tails for example is extremely similar to the IS. And check out those integrated exhausts.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
This beholder doesn't see any beauty about the exterior. Is it "modern", unusual - yes! Is it pretty, attractive - no.

The interior is very interesting, though, because it is much "warmer" than the typical BMW designs.

In order to make iDrive MORE confusing, they simply got rid of the screen and are now having people toggle the **** blind

That or they're using HUD

Is it just me, or do the tails have "L-shaped" LED light clusters?
