Maybe they need to bring the short wheelbase model to america. And maybe drop the AWD.

It is your opinion as the market has spoken and they love the car. Sold out already, the first 100k base MSRP Lexus.

rom DailyTech:
"For those looking to get your hands on an LS 600h L in June, don't count on it. Over 1,850 pre-orders for the vehicle have already been taken and the first-year allocation for the vehicle is almost depleted."
Wow, that is just amazing.

Cool. He just resigned from the Grizz.

Interesting...

In general the LS hybrid review is good, but the word 'hybrid' invites a cost/benefits analysis which adds greater scrutiny than the other V12s which are largely an exercise in excess. Clearly the LS hybrid is extravagant as well but it's not as guilt-inducing as the others.

cost/benefits analysis of V12 vs.V8 for other brands always favor the V8 as well, V12's always seem overpriced compared to their V8 brothers, & they depreciate faster too.

Pretty fair review. It's an incredible car - possibly the most advanced ever technologically. I'd honestly be concerned about buying a car SO complex though, even with Lexus' excellent history.

We knew the trunk would be small, and the weight would be up but I still imagine it will be a GREAT drive.

....How long will it take until someone does an ls460 l hybrid projector retrofit
That car is waaayy too heavy.. And theres no exclusivity , I can easily slap on some 'Hybrid badges' on a regular ls460, and It will perform the same.

It's still exclusive to the 2,000 allocation, low emissions, leather dash, etc.

But yeah, a hybrid projector retrofit would be niiiccee!

Edmunds continues to get sloppier with every review or preview that they do.

Did anyone notice the leather dash in the pics? I sure did not. Are they using LS 460 interior pics? There was absolutely no mention made of the leather dash, which comes standard on the car.

Also, Edmunds is comparing estimated EPA numbers that Lexus provided to official EPA numbers for the LS 460L. Edmunds also seems to have forgotten that all MY 2008 vehicles abide by new fuel economy testing procedures. The 2008 LS 460L will see lower EPA numbers than what it has now. To be fair, we cannot compare fuel economy until we have official EPA numbers for both the LS 600h, and the 2008 LS 460L.

How about this contradiction: Edmunds in the video states that the LS 600h can keep up with it's German V12 rivals, yet under the what needs work heading they say it's "not quick enough to be competition for a V12". Make up your mind Edmunds and have some sort of consistency .

They tested a pre-production model, and the LS 600h arrival date was moved back to June because word is that they were making some performance tuning changes. The production car likely will be a bit faster.

Yes it is my opinion as i have stated. The only real plus it has is um maybe the hybrid engine and the LED headlights. Besides that its basically the same as the LS460L which is alot cheaper. Same options same everything. Mileage isnt much better; it isnt any faster. Its still a good alternative to those who cant afford an S600 though.

^^^
It's not the same options same everything. Advanced pre-collision, leather dash, driver monitoring, 2-tone interior, advanced stablizer system, etc.

But I agree with you, the LS 460 L is definitely easier to justify. The LS 600h L is for the ultra high rollers.

I'm still wondering why they make AWD standard which makes the car heavier & slower, I think they should have made RWD available for the 600hL .

At this point, the 2 items I really want available for the LS600hL which differentiate it from the LS460L is the ****, which makes the much heavier 600hL more athletic than the 460L as stated in the Edmunds article, plus the LED headlights, but that's about it. I wish they were available for the 460L . . .plus a 5.0 V8 is nice too . . .

With several media reports (AutoWeek, FamilyCar) stating that the AWD system will make it to the LS 460, it's possible that other LS hybrid tech may trickle down as well.

All leather dash
CVT
AWD
5.0 V-8, not a 4.6
LEDs
(I am sure there is more)

A loaded LS 460 L is 94k. This starts at 104k and has pretty much everything and more as that loaded car.

LS 600h L. The only 5.0 Hybrid in the world. Nothing like it. Totally original.

The article stated, LS 600 buyers are wealthy, not high-income. It is preference, they might even have a S600. Its not a matter of buying this b/c they can't afford a S600. That is ridiculous.
