If it is 55k USD like I guessed in my first post, it will be a pretty good deal - but you also have to consider you can get a 335i for 42k, plus you can negotiate that 335i down to invoice price, whereas that 55k M3, well, if the dealer DOESN'T charge you some kind of inflated markup, it'll be a miracle on its own.

I guess what I'm saying is looking at sticker only, 42 vs 55 - I'd consider the 55k M3.

But real world results dictate more like 38k vs 60k+, and I don't think I'd pay that kinda increase.

If the 335 convert is already at 50k here I dont see a way for the E92 M3 to be only 55k. The convert is not 42k here, thats starting price for a hardtop

335 convert: 38,000 pounds UK, $50000 US
E92 M3: 50,000 pounds UK, $X

the 335 convert --> M3 is basically a 30% increase in UK price, so using that same % the E92 M3 can reasonably be near 65k

Without price gouge.

Good catch. I was thinking of the coupe hard top when I was doing the 'conversion' to USD in my mind. You're correct.

looks like you gotta save up more money than previously anticipated

But yea the price gouge thing will probably get out of hand. IMO no luxury brand that wants to have a good image should do that. I remember seeing some M5 and M6 marked up over 100k for "market adjustment fee" great!

I went looking at the 328i and 335i Convertibles about two weeks ago at a local dealer. The 335 was going for a little over 52K and the 328 a little over 48K. This was sticker, I know no idea what kind of mark up they are looking to get on it, I'd guess maybe $2500 (which I doubt they would get). With that said, I dont know anyone who bought a new E46 M3 or E39 M5 and got it without some sort of mark-up...
