Default Refueling - Loaner car

Do you guys refuel your loaner car before you bring it back.

I always do, because they never ever have any gas in them.

No no..you don't need to refuel..I never do. It's part of the great service.. you get a loaner at no cost. Just return it as is.

That's why they charge so much for the service. I don't refuel.

I was told to... Just to where it was when you took it though. Otherwise they charge like 4.50 a gallon for them to do it.

I was at my dealer a few days ago and they gave me a brand new ES350 as a loaner and had the ***** to ask me to return it with a full tank since the tank was full when i picked it up. I couldn't believe my ears, i filled it up alright, at the crappiest service station i could find with nothing but their finest regular 87 octane.

You must go to Lexus of New Oreleans because Lexus of Mobile requests for you to put gas back in it, just a 1/4 tank. However I have skimped a few times but never been busted!

That was the mature thing to do...

Park Place of Plano doesn't ask that you refuel the loaner (at least they haven't asked me to yet).

Why should Lexus pay for your gasoline??? The idea of a loaner car is to compensate you for the loss of your own car while it is being serviced. If you are driving your own car you pay for your own gas, so you should also do the same in the loaner car they give you. If you had a loaner car for an extended period (say a week) and drove more than a tankful you wouldn't expect Lexus to reimburse you for the gas you put in it, would you? Let's not be so cheap that we kill these nice perks. Lexus is in the business to make money, and providing a loaner car is a nice thing, but let's not abuse the service.

I can't beleive my eyes reading this... Not that they asked you to refuel it but becuase you're surprised... Hello... You're getting the car with a FULL tank, it only makes sence you return it that way. The fees you pay for your car being services is just that... Fees for YOUR car being serviced. A loaner car is a COURTESY car which you're getting for FREE and you expect to get a full tank of gas and return it empty?

at stevinson lexus in colorado. they charge a $7.50 fee for the loaner, for the length of the loan. 1 day or a year. they say that this is to offset the gas cost, because people used to bring back the loaners bone dry.

so don't think that you are entitled to the loaner or the gas in it. you're not.
you bought a car and not you're servicing it and paying for the service.
no one owes you anything else.

It varies from dealer to dealer.

My dealer has me sign a gas form which says I will bring loaner back with same amount of gas, but I'm always running late and forget to stop at gas station. I have never been charged.
