Question Found a 97 240sx need advice?

Really want one. Most I found want 7 to 10k. Crazy! Found a 97 for 6500.00 that has a rebuilt title. I got the guy at 5500.00 now. Its auto and has 131k miles. I had my mech. check it out and it all looks ok. What do you think? Can I get it to 5000.00 or lower?

Why rebuilt tiltle?

Theft recovery? totaled?

I want one really bad myself......but were talking about a $3000 car.
Someone asking that much for a recondition?????

Red flags.........all over the place.

'97-98 are hard to find. The owners know that.
If its a recondition........find out why (bring that to the table)
otherwise.......you can still find one.

(I know.....~2800 production run for a '98)

Any other pics.......that looks pretty damn clean.!!

Most crazy 240 owners want 7 to 10k and most will not budge. I say let them keep them. The car is clean and I had my mech. look at it no leaks good compression. Crazy clean interior.

I still think they look tight (when done properly)

I still want one to build like the guy that stopped by our CL meet.
I'd drive this car all over the place.!!!

I don't think the rebuilt one is SE model, no front lip, no sunroof and no leather seats???
I have had 4 240sx before, and I know them well.
What are you going to do with it? Swap Sr20 for drifting? or just drive it since you think it is cool?
Salvage 240 are not that good, and since it is a Auto, even for 5K I wouldn't even consider it.
I would start with a nice clean 97+ 240, with clean title, no sunroof 5 spd SE model, even if it will cost 2K extra.

I just want a commuter car. I may build and turbo the ka down the road but no swap. I have always loved the cars and its what I like. It does have a sunroof and it is a se. I will try to get it lower.

I refuse to pay 8k + for these cars. I don't care how rare they are. Like I said in my original post it is clean and my mech. checked it out.

Yeah, If you just want the look and use it for commute, I guess it is not that bad then...
But if you think you might change the mind later and use it for drift or track, my opinion stands.

i agree with the other guys why rebuilt tittle?? i got one in an auction for 1700, and its junk but its destination is the Canyon/ Track car, so looking good is not the perogative, but i guess down the road itll get some exterior love...

Im pretty sure that non-SE models do not have the 5 lug hub assembly unless it is a base model and they swapped. Seeing how this car looks comletely stock, I doubt someone would only swap out the 4 lug for a 5 lug hub assembly.
