Thumbs up Nissan Skyline GTR... 480hp & 530hp!!!

With an est starting price less than the upcoming M3, but power and performance that will crush it... Time for me to make a deposit on my next whip!

The standard GTR is expected to start at $57K while the V Spec and EVO Spec will start at $67K and $94K respectively. Both a 6 speed and an advanced paddle shifting automatic are to be available. The Standard GTR and Spec V will be equiped with a 480HP version of the VQHRTT engine(displacement is either 3.7 or 3.8L as it has not yet been confirmed). The GTR EVO will receive a 530HP version of the VQHRTT engine as well as being roughly 220lbs lighter then the standard GTR, coming with light weight seats, a larger more aerodynamic rear spoiler, large ceramic brake rotors, and a revised Altessa AWD geared for more track use.

I know I will stand alone in this notion, but these photos look...well...bad. The shots we had seen previously looked nice and I know this car isn't necessarily about looks but the pictures above look like a ten year old car with lots of ricey aftermarket parts. It just doesn't look...good. It looks cheap to me.

I guess I'll reserve final judgment for when we see the final photos but these are a let down to me, regardless of engine specs.

57K for base? I hope there won't be a big dealer's markup on it.
I guess I will just get the base model then, and use the extra for mods..

I think they did a great job of keeping the rear very similar to the R34

Nissan GT-R not Nissan Skyline GT-R.

Are these spy pics or CGI? I'm going to guess the ones shown here are the EVO spec.

Dealer markup?!?!? Nahhhhhh... Where did you get this silly idea?
It will be interesting to see how Nissan dealers cope with this - the most expensive car they ever sold - potential GTR customers may not like the experience.

I wonder what the difference between the base and spec-V is going to be to justify $10K. You are right in that the difference between $57K and $94K of the base and EVO spec, respectively seems difficult to justify (other than for collectible value, may be?). I agree with MPLexus301 that it is not a great-looking car (like its predecessors). But then again..., if it drives like magic, who cares .

This is correct. The Nissan Skyline is our Infiniti G35/G37. The Nissan GT-R is a stand alone model.

I think the performance from those numbers should be staggering, the EVO looks to be a GT3 killer.

Will it convince buyers in AMERICA to look past the NIssan badge? I wouldn't step foot in a Nissan dealership to save my life, they are pretty bad.

For the price, its hard to touch on paper.

I think the spoiler ruins the car. Too tall.
I've stepped in a Nissan dealership once. I never will again, they don't treat their customers (or potential customers) with respect.

EDIT: Actually I hate most of the aero package in those pictures.

I think I'm actually like the look of the car more and more as it evolves from what was the concept to the production car. There's a switch.

As for Nissan, I owned a 1998 Altima GLE. Boring as all heck but the dealership and car never let me down. I haven't stepped into a Nissan showroom since then but hopefully they haven't degenerated that badly.
