I believe it's a German car since Volkswagen owns Bugatti...

407 km/h! I've read that the Veyron was capable of 253mph but I finally watched it with my own two eyes.

I believe the original Bugatti was designed by an Italian person by the name of Ettore Arco Isidoro Bugatti but he's long gone now. So yes, the Italians were the original designers. Volkswagen purchased Bugatti in 1998...
