I've driven the ES 330 and 350 recently and its very clear, the 350 is harsher and sportier. The ES 330 IMO was a Japanese Caddy.

Both cars are sold/sell like mad though.

Yes, I almost bought an ES330. The only thing that stopped me was my conversion to AWD....and I liked Subaru's AWD system better than that on the RX.

Well, respectfully, yes! At least I hope you don't have a lack of flexibility, groan when you bend down, sit down, or get up, and haven't retired yet!

but i wasn't saying cut the sofas on wheels now ... i was just saying that it will need to happen eventually. soft rides are nice, but i just think people are going to want handling AND nice ride, body-roll will become more and more unacceptable
Handling is honestly of little interest to most older drivers (I mean Cadillac's demographic is still 50+ whether they like it or not), but I agree that body roll DECREASES comfort, but crude solutions like stiff sway bars or low profile tires aren't the answer. The answer (and I suspect we agree on this) will come from increasingly sophisticated active suspensions, newer tire and wheel designs, and lighter allow wheels.

With most lower-center-of-gravity vehicles, even fairly softly-sprung ones, body roll today is generally not much of an issue unless you try to push it in corners. With a few obvious exceptions like the BMW X5, Volvo XC-90, and Audi Q7, it becomes more and more an issue as the center-of-gravity rises.
