However IS is lacking on the interior, it's more to the Toyota standards than Lexus standards. Don't get me wrong, its built very sturdy, but some of the materials used are hard plastics and generally look cheap.
Correct. I had an IS300 myself, and while it had a couple of electronic transmission-shift quirks here and there, in general, it was the most solidly-built car I've ever owned. It was assembled like a Swiss watch.
Had nowhere near the versatility of my Outback, though...especially in bad weather. It was a handful on slippery roads, even with electronic traction aids.
- The IS handles better, stops better.
- The GS has the pimp factor.... bigger inside much bigger.
- Same mpg.
- They are both beautiful cars...Lexus did an amazing job styling both.
