Correct. I had an IS300 myself, and while it had a couple of electronic transmission-shift quirks here and there, in general, it was the most solidly-built car I've ever owned. It was assembled like a Swiss watch.

Had nowhere near the versatility of my Outback, though...especially in bad weather. It was a handful on slippery roads, even with electronic traction aids.

- The IS handles better, stops better.
- The GS has the pimp factor.... bigger inside much bigger.
- Same mpg.
- They are both beautiful cars...Lexus did an amazing job styling both.
