for some reason the SLK seems like the SLR's distant cousin who got the crap beat out of him for being a girlie car (SLK55 is exempt, he got the broken face from a fight with a tow truck)

It's a fullstop and not a question. So yes, *I* can't see the difference. Hmm, I think I should've said that I can't see the similarities between the two, not the differences. Oops!

Since when is the SLK in any form, present or past-generation, a "girlie" car? Plenty of males bought them.

There really is no such thing as a "girlie" car, although the Beetle convertible with the flower-stem in it comes close.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from... I mean, they both have two doors, 4 wheels AND tires (both made of rubber no less) and they both have an engine in the front... Sorry bro, but those cars look nothing alike... If any manufacturer stole any idea's, it's Lexus stealing the E class design with the intro of the 2GS.

I think that the past generation was, just because it was an IMO very soft, non aggressive design, the same way I'd describe the SC. The new one is much more styled and aggressive looking, much better.

I think you are, yes. At the very least you need to get your eyes checked.

The SC430 looks almost like a VW Beetle it's so round, compared to the sporty lines of the SLK.

LOL, I never thought I'd fall in love with a Beetle.

I have an uncle who has owned MANY exotic cars... Porsches, Ferraris, Cobras, Corvettes, Panteras, etc.

He could easily buy any car he wanted. I'll never forget, when I was a teenager he said:

"Mercedes are for people with more money than imagination."

Can we ditch the political correctness for once? The SLK IS a girl's car. Sad to say, the SC430 is too. That being said, I would drive a SC (not the SLK, though). The 92-2000 SC was never given that same stereotype. I don't know why Lexus shortened the length of the SC. The fact remains that I would bet there is alot larger contingent of SLK, SC430 women owners than guy owners. Sure....of course there are guys who own both-just like there are women who own Hummers and Lambos, too.

I think the SC actually looks more like the old SLK than the new one. Not that they're very similar, just more similar than this new SLK is to the SC.
