You keep mentioning Toyota gaining sales due to fleet dumping, but Toyota's fleet percentages has been roughly the same; as GM and Ford are reducing fleets, it has been Nissan, Hyundai and Chrysler increasing fleet sales
Never said they were dumping cars. However for the first 6 months of 2006, 12.8% of Corolla sales went to fleets (same percentage for the Camry BTW).
kinda ironic cause for the longest time, the Civic was classified as subcompact while the Corolla, Sentra and Protegé were classified as compacts. Honda caught up in size for the last generation and blew past the competition this time around. (Same can be said of the Accord which was classified as compact for the longest time after the Camry has moved to midsize ranks)
Many cars keep moving up in size... the Altima actually got a little smaller for this new gen but its interesting.. 1 day the Corolla will be a full-size Luxury car lol

Slightly smaller but note that the last gen was huge! It was bigger than the Gen 5 Camry I believe.
lol... I'm sure trends will reverse it the other way... like how we had huge wheels, then small wheels and now we're back to huge wheels.
