It's really funny how the Supra, which was essentially some 15 years old, still posts comparable numbers to todays Corvettes and yet beats mustangs, 350Z, RX-8, and the like.
The car was so far ahead of its time it wasn't even funny
the engine, brakes, suspension, chassis, electronics, and the style of the mk4 supra is way ahead of its time. people don't realize supra is more than just a hp monster - it is a supercar.
So, why'd they even throw the MR-2 in there? That's like putting a go-kart up against an F1 rocket... I know the MR-2 is capable... but that's just not a fair fight...

I dare say that the MR-2 is a better sports car than the Supra.

The Supra is much better balanced and therefore more suitable for racing.

its not only the supra. the same could be said about the 300zx turbo, rx7, and 300gt vr4 from the early 90's.
