Many male and female teens, for lack of money, family discipline, or other reasons, drive what their parents give them....or allow them to buy. And.....(I have written and posted on this many times).......V8 Mustangs, high insurance notwithstanding, are extremely popular with teens, and injure or kill more of them than any other vehicle I can think of. The car is like a crack addicition with them.....they drive Mustangs in outrageously aggressive manners and pay the price.
Dude, you are totally wrong, chicks love Civics. Back when I was in College and had my 5th gen, I think the car was picking up more chicks than I was, lol.

When I was a teenager, technically I still think I am at 20, I never really wanted a Honda, don't get me wrong they are great cars, reliable and all. I just don't know what it is.

Always a Toyota man, unfortunately, Toyota wasn't the one my parents chose to replace when my hand me down 1988 Chevrolet Nova gave up on me in fall 05, which was basically a Toyota Corolla in it's day. The car ran like it was number one till the day it gave up.

Thats b/c Chicks OWN Civics. If I had $1 for every chick I hit with a Civic, I could by a LS 600h L.

I used to look outside the crib when I lived with roommates and it looked like a Honda used car lot outside.

Chicks buy Hondas like no tomorrow.

Perhaps so....I don't know what the demographics are where you live. In my part of the country, though, I myself have not seen many young girls driving Civics, though...especially the pimped-up ones with spoilers, wings, turbo engines, trick paint jobs, etc.... That, in my area, for the most part, is the domain of the caps-on-backward crowd of young guys.....particularly Latinos.

Where I live, perhaps the favorite car of young girls is the VW Beetle....though I see no reason a male cannot buy one if he likes it.

And I'm certainly not wrong about the number of teens driving Mustangs and getting hurt or killed in them....I see that with my own eyes.

lol, when i was in grade 12 (only like 4yrs ago) the most common car in my parking lot was some form of 3series, followed closely by A4s and then misc large american suvs (i was in that catagory then)

i think this completely depends on what type of teens you ask; example, the type of teen who drives a civic may be more likely to answer your servey about what type of car they drive than the type of teen who drives the suv.

I think Civics are so popular among high school kids because:

1) Used ones are very affordable and reliable
2) They're slow enough and safe enough to win the nod of approval from mom and dad
3) Aftermarket parts for them are literally everywhere

True story, my first two cars were a 91 Accord when I was 16 and a 2000 Accord when I was 18

Too many moms and dads, though, don't know about those little bolt-on nitrous bottles and plumbing under the hood.

You're probably right. I guess the proper thing to do (from a parent's perspective) is to routinely inspect Jr.'s car for such things, and take away the driving privilege as necessary.

wow, im 16 and i would never drive a civic....i just cant stand the type of kids who rice them out.

at my school theres:
93 sc400 (that would be me)
06 E500
02 330ci
04 celica gts (carbon fiber everything, you know how that goes)
07 335i ( black on black)
various mustang gt's

then for the ones that dont stand out:
dakota's
many newer body style corollas
sebring coupes
accords
camrys
econoline e150 haha
chevy trucks ( its NC, what do you expect?)

and then for the vtecs: (or most non vtec, but so they claim)
civics galore, few preludes
one civic, the kid claims it has 3, THREE, i said it right, three turbos.
what an idiot
theres many others like this, some claiming "fastest hatch in charlotte" or 450 whp.
then theres the girls who drive civics and i dont have a problem with them, because many of them are hott, and all of them are non-rice
