I like the name Lexus, but on my GS it looks too busy on the tail - with the name Lexus on the left, the L in the middle and the model name on the left. So I removed it.

But I have "ClubLexus" stickers on my quarter panel windows and Lexus on my licence plate.

I'd say keep it on.

Kompressor is only put on the front fenders. You've seen them on the trunk lid?

I say take it off. It really annoys me further when people get license plate frames with LEXUS on it too. That's redundant.

It almost seems as if the badge represents a symbol of luxury and prestige and that there is no need to display the name of the brand itself on every single vehicle. Everyone knows that the 3-pointed star symbolizes Mercedes-Benz, for example.

So do you think at this point the L-badge is well known enough and synonymous with the Lexus brand that perhaps they don't need to add the word "Lexus" to every one of their models anymore? Could the L-badge just speak for itself as the symbol for Lexus?
I have mixed "emotions" about this. If they take off the "Lexus" then the trunk lid becomes sort of unbalanced. In that case, I would just debadge and leave the L.

I've seen them on the trunklids of C-series sedans. the front fender is probably too small to fit such a big word.

Guys...

The reason they have the Kompressor on there is because they have the N/A version in those cars as well, just not in the North American market. In order to differentiate between the two, they put the letters on there...

As far as Lexus letters go, I think it's just more of a Japanese thing.

My confusion was the location of the Kompressor badge, not if it existed. We're past that now, but thanks anyway.

I say keep it on but allow to have a badge delete option as BMW does in other countries (theirs deletes the model since they don't say "BMW")

My RX, given that Lexus does not exist in Mexico, gets mistaken for Toyota (my Camry center caps give that away), Lincoln, Land Rover, Seat, Jaguar and a host of other vehicles here. I removed the Lexus symbols about 3 years ago from the exterior except for my rear bumper cover. Even my L has a Harrier emblem now.

For me, I would want it off, but I respect others who feel it should stay.

I love how the European companies offer a debadging option. Some cars just look so much better debadged.

if honda isn't putting "Honda" on their cars, I think Lexus doesn't need to put "Lexus" anymore

But people aren't proud of driving Hondas...

There are some luxury marques that need repetitive branding. Have you seen Louis Vuitton bags?

Many of us older members were around when all manufacturers labeled their cars....well most of them. I like symbols and words. I don't think it's clutter or rediculous. I love seeing the word "Kompressor" or GTO. Lexus should keep the word.
