Why doesn't Ford bring that to America? Its better then anything I see in their line up today.

We Amercians don't get cars like that because we are too boring... we like plain jane cars that don't go fast and don't do anything well. Or at least, that's the impression that I get from the cars currently in the Ford lineup.

That's one nice looking car.

They have existed in Mexico for years. The design is quite different from the rest of the Ford Euro lineup, (Ford Ka is another one). Although they have their issues, they handle a lot more like a European sedan should than what one might typically think of Ford sedans.

Wow... that is a really nice car!

Assuming it gets good fuel mileage - I could see myself driving that.

I've always been a big fan of semi-active and active suspension systems... and this is the least expensive car I've seen one on, to date.

It would be nice. Ford (as well as other automakers) is so used to American mentality: "Bigger is better."

Ford needs a small fun compact car. Not the Fiesta, not the Focus...

Ford and GM seem to be pushing their vehicles where they're appreciated more and not bashed no matter what they do.

Don't forget BUICK, yes BUICK, is China's best luxury brand right now.

If Ford does bring that Mondeo here, I doubt any of you would buy it no matter how good it is, because it's a Ford.

Looks like owning Volvo has helped a lot. The engine looks like its borrowed from Volvo... 2.5 I-5 turbo. Also the active chassis system sounds A LOT like the 4C suspension that debuted first on the S60R.

I'd honestly look into this thing if we had it and if they build quality was better than USDM Fords.

Perhaps they could've tried using this for a replacement Lincoln LS by dressing it up a bit?

Ford quality over seas is quite on the level. That's one reason why I say Jag just might have something going for them since the X-type is based on the Mondeo, but highly modified from there.

The X-type is as based on the Mondeo as is it based on the Contour
And by that I mean this old junker

Granted - it is modified fairly significantly from there - but still - quite a few of the details and specs of the chassis and some of the available drivetrain options, electronics, and so on are shared between the two.

The current X-type is a FAR cry from the Mondeo in that video. That Mondeo uses an all new platform, drivetrain, and so on...
