ultimate japanese sports car?

Ultimate Japanese sports car... from both a historical and $$ view it has to be the Toyota 2000 GT.
Multiple 72 hr endurance records, Caroll Shelby used them for his racing program in 1968, only 351 ever made.
In terms of price tag $100,000-$1,000,000 now...
I love the NSX, but gotta give credit where credit is due.
Cheers,

I took a test drive in an NSX with a Comptech exhaust once. I'd been skating around in an MR2 SC for about 2 years at the time so mid-engine rotation control was second nature to me. I scared the poor salesman so bad it wasn't funny. We got back to the dealership and he said, "You don't look like someone who could drive like that. Really!" It was pretty funny but it was a really fun drive. I'd do it again in a second.

Hands down, the NSX. Easy voting for me. To this day, the NSX still looks good and classy. Honda engineering at its best. As someone mentioned, it forever changed the exotic sporting scene.
