Thumbs up Supercar Shootout in Sweden.... (Includes tuned Supra)

* I had to put in the Supra part, it looked like the only Japanese car there.

These guys put together a great day a few days back at an airfield in Sweden. It's great to see the respect shown by all involved. In the big thread, there are a few links to other forums and while a few owners have their "doubts" and question why their car model didn't perform at it's best...

Anyhoo... This thread is a great read. While I love the Kelleners M6, the Carrera GT and RUF Turbo are really amazing. I need to dig deeper into the links to see if the Audi R8 was just watching or actually involved.

Big thread here:

There are some really great matchups there. The Supra had a few issues but the owner posted that he'll be back better prepared next time.

I was a bit disappointed in the Viper...

Been seeing these vids via another forum I'm on. They are good. That Gustav guy has been putting these races together for quite some time now. Some of his older races were a little fishy IMO, but atleast someone is out there putting this together. All the supercar matches that we wanted to see in one place. And more coming later...wow.

As for that Supercharged Viper race, I guess modded M6's are running mid 10 quarter miles too huh?? But it does seem like they raced way past a quarter mile.

For a modded Supra, he's not making a lot of power. I understand it's a stock block and never been rebuilt, but I've seen plenty of Supras put down 800 whp on a stock long block with just piggybacks and good fuel. It's funny how the BMW owners want to call the 2JZ fragile. Oh well...

There were a couple comments, I believe they were in jest. Same goes for the Z06 owners. The good thing about that board, the don't let it get out of hand and are very respectful. The Supra owner had no problems with the commentary.

The Supra could and likely will do better next time. They need to get that Twin Turbo M5 out there. I also want to see how the Audi did.. I couldn't find any videos of it against anything.

Its pretty crazy how a $45k(brand new), atleast 10 year old car can compete with the best cars made today. Not only compete but is allowed to even show up to be involved with those cars. I mean it really says ALOT about the Supra and the kind of respect it has earned over the years from car enthusiasts world wide.

Nice vids and good read too
