I agree that you were lucky, but why were you doing 111 MPH in a 70 zone to start with?
Learn a lesson and slow down. Next time you will probably be up ****** creek.

I got pulled over twice in Orange County and fortunately they let me go with a warning.
First time I got pulled over in downtown Laguna Beach, doing 50-60 in a 35 zone of PCH at 4 am by two officers.
Second time I got pulled over in downtown Huntington Beach, revving my engine for fun at my friends suggestion. He ended up letting me go with a warning also.
In both cases, I pulled over immediately and tried to make life as easy for the officers as possible. I turn off the engine, roll down the windows, turn on the interior lights, and put both of my hands on the steering wheel. Also, admitting that you're guilt and not arguing helped me in both cases.

Florida is my home state. Growing up there, I never had too much issue, but when I got to college, friends from other states would be amazed I got off the way I did. A lot of my friends, since I went to school in the DC area, were from northern VA and they told me all the little horror stories, especially Fairfax County.

I used to have a 325ic when I was up there and I remember carefully looking all around me, sometimes lowering even in cold weather, just to be aware of the police presence.
