Why don't Toyota and Nissan use V-8s in their cars
I was looking at some magazine the other day and behold Hyundai is going to use a v-8 to put in one of their cars. Why don't Toyota and Nissan use a V-8? Toyota could use it in the Avalon and Nissan could use it in the Maxima.

Currently, Hyundai does not have a premium brand to brandish a V8 in although Toyota and Nissan do.

In the era we currently live in, focused on fuel efficiency and the reduction of dependency on fossil fuels and foreign oils, putting V8 powerplants in their flagships are not the feasible thing to do, especially for a brand that appeals to the general masses.

That's true, but the truck market demands the torque for towing and cargo that a 4cyl and V6 cannot provide. The 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 in the current Avalon, Camry and RAV4 are plenty powerful. They can smoke many V8 powered cars out there...the 1st and 2nd Gen 4.0L V8 LS400 included!

Uh huh... V-8s in fwd cars... well take a look at chevy, impala/monte carlo, yes we all want a v-8 monte or impala but not FWD... DAMM NASCAR doing away with homologation Look how well those cars handle.

hahaha, hyundai needs something to boost their sale.....
when they cant compete in luxury, performance, and reliability sectors, they have to give out something to attract their buyers....
which is a gas-sucking V8 at the cost of a tercel

I am sure if there was a true market for it, Toyota would have it. Seems they will put the V-8 in the 4 Runner (I know not a car) and Nissan just put a V-8 in the PAthfinder.
For cars though, they don't really offer much advantage since the new V-6s perform so well with good fuel economy.
The Boneville V-8 was canned. No market.

Really now? I doubt that very much. Well the canned Boneville is being replaced with the rear drive 350 plus horse Ausie built G8.
V8's are making a strong come back with the return of the Camaro, Bmw with the V8 M3, Caddy, Buicks, etc.. etc.. V8 muscle is back for sure and more fuel efficient than years past. Toyota and Nissan are just reluctant to stuff v8's in the Avalons, Maximas, et. al. because those vehicles would surely take away sales from their respective luxury divisons. The cookie cutter cars from Nissan & Toyota seem to be on par with their luxury counterparts already.
