$39K for a CIVIC? seriously?

i'm sure it's one hell of a Civic, but at the end of the day you still have to say

"Yeah I drive a CIVIC Muge....blah blah"

by which point anyone listening has lost interest anyways.

That car doesn't hit any of the right spots for me.

I really like it, I've been a fan of the K-series since it came out. After my RX300 I'll be in the market for an RSX-S, or new Civic Si, really a shame we don't have the Type-R here in the states.

Doesn't really matter what it looks like; this is the best-performing Civic to ever come from the factory. I'm pretty sure this outperforms a stock S2000. What makes this car fast is not merely the HP or the weight; it's the suspension setup and how nimble and sharp this is in the corners.

$39,000....for a Civic...
there are a lot of ways to look at it.
for a lexus enthusiast, the above makes sense.

but personally id love to give it a try.
its probably a lot of fun... and it does look good and is fairly exclusive...

what about handling dynamics? I give props to Honda for building a car like this when all Japan is about is "one-box" minivans.

I am an AUTOMOBILE enthusiast first, Lexus 2nd..
Is it a nice feat? Yes. At $38,000, more than a S2000 out the box ready to rumble, why?

when 300 of them are made, it's a collector's item. If you're looking for something in particular, value is not a concern. Just like people paying a premium for an SL65 over an SL55. Why get an SL65 when you can spend the money you save on an SL55 and mod it?

Now if this civic was mass produced, then I can see why the price is outrageous

That's a nice car. Just like everyone else is saying, at the end of the day, you're still driving a Civic. This is the kind of car that someone would buy if you have insane amounts of money to burn and you are a car collector.

I think it's a very nice looking Civic. Factory aftermarket items (don't forget its Mugen), very nice. Pricey, yes. With 300 of them being made, this thing isn't catered to your average consumer. It's for people to play real life Grand Turismo 4 or Forza 2.

Uhhh, this is NOT a collectors car. This is a Civic, and an expensive one at that. It seems it was meant to be driven anyway, not sit in a garage.

I think some of you are watching too much Barrett-Jackson!!!

This car falls into the same category as the Nismo 400 for collectors. Maybe its a homologation for some racing class in japan, does JGTC 300 allow fwd cars? i dunno...

ps: i like watching barret-jackson

This mugen RR will be as much as a collector car as a Civic Type R, and Acura Integra Type R. Yes they share the same civic name and chassis, but they are tweaked for performance that no other fwd cars can attain. There is nothing wrong with this civic, as long as it has something to back it up. The price is reflected through its low production number and performance. Although I wouldn't buy the car myself, there will be someone else out there who will have money to burn on a car like this.

The 1986 Corolla AE86 has always been preceived as a future classic/collectible car. Water it down to the chassis, it's just a corolla.

I dont expect people to agree however.
