Most BMWs do not have active steering. You drive a boat of a GS and LS, the BMW's feel is as telepathic as Dr. Xavier in X-men as far as you are concerned.

Well, the GS doesn't have great steering feedback, but LS has excellent steering feedback, much better than any BMW with active steering. The handling isn't great of course, but thats another story.

the legal definition of curb weight is w/a full tank of gas. Problem is that no other automaker lists unladen weights. And BMW managed fool incompetent auto journalists yet again.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, auto journalists need to do proper research. Yet none of them bother.

So we're comparing Ferrari's to $40k sport-lux coupes now? Well hell, I was in a 599 the other day and let me tell you, that thing was a lot faster than my car. And only $415k more expensive. A BARGAIN!

when I tried, active steering it got on my nerves, each turn the steering ratio was different dependant on the speed, it was hard to predict how much turn in I needed, I dont see how this feature is even useful

Oh, I bet you disagree, and so probably does 99% of this forum. In fact, if someone would tell me that prior to me buying the LS, I wouldn't believe them either. But believe me, the LS has a very very nice steering feel and feedback, and while the handling is rather poor, it is very predictable. And my old 1st gen GS also had a fairly decent steering feel, while not as good as the LS, but much much better than 2nd gen GS.

no comparision, if you're going to refer to an automobile "telepathic" make sure it is.

yeah sure
and by the numbers how many more units will the G37 sell compared to the 335i?
How many more Z's sell compared to the 335i?
How many more Corvettes sell compared to the 335i?
How many 328i's outsell the 335i
Doesn't the 997 outsell the 335i.

apparently the marketplace doesn't agree

I can guarantee you there would be less units sold if the G37 had a G35, G30 to compare with. The same applies to Z's, 997s, etc..

Your argument again is absurd. Keep reaching.

my arguments are fine, the only person reaching is the one who thinks the 335i is a sports car and any auto journalist who strokes his faulty reasoning.

It's the answer to a question that was never asked. It wouldn't even exist, if not for the competition between the luxury carmakers, seeing who can one-up the other guys on technology. i-Drive, active steering, auto parallel park, active braking and steering. No thanks.

It's common knowledge among informed gear heads that the 3 Series, even in M3 form, is a GT at best. A sports car wouldn't have a rear seat, it wouldn't weigh 3500+ pounds, and it wouldn't be 1-wheel drive.

Who said it was a sports car? I'm not the one making references to a Ferrari F40 (a sports car) when we are talking about Entry Level Pseudo Sport Cruisers. Nor am I the one comparing sales when the 335i obviously has other cars in its own stable to compete against. Units sold is often limited by production. You are a smart guy, you should know better than to make such misleading comparisons just for arguments sake. Tell me this, are 335i sales struggling?
