This is just a regular ride in drive unfortunately. There will be a twist for the Santa Anita one. I'll elaborate on it later.

So what cars did they have?
El Toro started at 12 and someone has to have a report?!
Update:
B-I-L relayed to me:
This year they have a card like pass that allows you to sign-up for a time to drive time the car. Something like 15 people/hour per car. Think of it like Fast Pass that Disney has for in-park rides.
Food set-up was much different. Food he said was good but not like last year...he said the pastries reminded him of Corner Bakery.
No comp goodies when leaving..last year it was a silver tray and the Paul McCartney CD's. (Right?)
IS-F was on display...
LS600H kicks azz!!!! He was surprised how fast it was.
Anxious now...we'll be there at 9.

Taste of Lexus -2007
Just got back from the Taste of Lexus in Irvine. This year is far better than last year. Now you use a credit-card issued during registration to "book" the test ride of your choice, NO WAITING in long lines. One you book your ride in computer kiosks located throught the venue that read your card, your drive time would be displayed on a monitor in the area where your test car was. The crowds seemed less than last year and the food is now set up in seperate buildings, depending on what you like. Food seemed better as well. No parting "gifts" this year, but the Dunlop kiosk gave a way tire pressure gages.
The SC on display was the same old model (silver on black) this year, nothing to get excited about, but they DID have a new F on display, however, when I went to pop the hood or open the door a staff member politely informed me that that was not permitted, and this was one of only three in the US. It looks slick on the outside with quad exhausts with each pair stacked, but I REALLY wanted to see what was under the hood (maybe there was no engine ).
I drove the new 600h hybrid and it has plenty of power, but it is a large parade float on wheels. If large boats are your thing, this car is cool. This car is loaded with goodies like a back seat massage chair. The car we drove smelled like it had something burning electrical in it (the hybrid drive??) and I am not sure why, but it was an odd smell.
Overall, a major improvement from last year, but there was no "competitors" cars this year, but there were nice track areas and the performance track area had a straight-away that looked like folks were doing a 100, but we decided to drive the 600 only, and that track was somewhat mondane.
If you go this year, I believe you will like it over last years overcrowded gathering.

great info there bob, we are going tomorrow. i love that credit card type thing, that's going to be resolve a lot of waiting time i am sure.
so with that, are you allowed to drive all models that you want or they limit the number of cars you can drive? either way, i think this is brilliant idea
my main goal is to test the 600hl. too bad they don't allow you to look at the F!!!!! curious about that straight away too, 100 is very high speed
today is friday so there are less people, i wonder if it's tomorrow whether it will be more crowded?

My list is short: LS600H, GS 450H and IS 350. The lines were too long for the IS 350 last time. See ya guys there!
