Just when I almost lost all my hope in getting an invitation and therefore a participation this year at San Francisco, guess what, I got one in the mail yesterday! Woo hoo...they did not forget me after all!! ...although sending me the invitation only 5 days in advance (event coming this Saturday) should not be the most courteous thing they could do. And the registration number is invalid according to the tasteoflexus.com website. The customer service lady told me to "try again in 3 days" while they work on fixing it. Not surprised knowing Lexus's web team.

Anyway, thanks to the LA guys here for all the spoilers... Can't wait for the weekend to come!!

 

Those fenders and the wheel fitment are horrible.

 

I guess ill be getting an invite in sept. Does anyone know if there is a product specialist there by the IS-F who can answer any questions about the car. And is the LX570 there on display.

 

fenders i agree don't look that good, but wheel fitment? i don't see much better fitment on bmw or mercedes stock neither

there was maybe 2 people around the is-f explainnig to people about the car. i don't know how knowledgeable they are though

Rominl, my 335i stock wheels do not fit that far in. You can't expect it to be flush like an aftermarket setup, but I think the IS350 wheels fit better due to the exaggerated fenders on the IS-F.

 

could be the lowering in the prototype too. as you can see in the pic there is no wheel gap. the car out of production probably will be higher, thus the wheels won't look as bad.

same thing happened for the ls460 prototype. when we saw the car it was definitely lower than the production ones, much less wheel gap and the wheels "suck" in more. in the production one the car is higher and the fitment seems better

so i think we should wait for the production units and see. if it is the same look, then i agree with you

 

Yes, there are real Lexus employees and AMCI (?) guys out by the car to answer questions....as opposed to "models" they hire for auto shows. The guy I talked to was a race car driver.

 

so I take it the GS models were 07? and no hint at what the facelifted 08 GS will look like

 

The only 2008 models available were the RX350/400h and the IS-F (static display only).
