Well, I have a 1st gen LS400, and 2nd gen GS430, and while overall I do like the LS400 better, it does have a few problems, like most early Lexus models, but all of these problems were fixed in next generations. The 2nd gen LS, 95-97 is basically an improved version of the first gen, and 2.5 gen LS, 98-2000 is even better, almost perfect. And I think you should be able to find a 98 LS in a nice condition with your budget.

LOL, thats 2.5 gen. I think its a really really great car, its basically a perfected version of the original LS, with all the bugs worked out and every possible improvement.

5) Moddable and NOT FWD
6)Not an E46 (Dashocker )

Thanks,

PS: I want the car to be somewhat luxurious and nice inside. Handling/speed doesn't really matter to me because the car will be modded. I just want potential.
LOL.. You are passing up on one of the best cars on the planet bar none E. The E46. No matter how much you mod a GS, LS, IS, it will never give you the same confidence, driving dynamics, handeling, safety as the famed E46. Modding an E46 will make it even more of a pleasure. Shoot, I will sell you my GS.

Let me know if any of the above mentioned can drive like these machines

The GS is not exactly reliable either. You take care of a car, and it will take care of you. The E46 3 series is one of the most reliable Bimmers you can buy. Good luck with your choice E

Yeah, but they are hard to come by, and very expensive to repair. LS is a very smooth car as it is, air suspension isn't necessary IMO.

As far as the E46 goes, seeing that you already owned a GS, you are already spoiled by Lexus, and if you go for the bimmer, you might end up hating it after a while.
