I could have put down $20K and had a payment of $483 x 60 months.
You can work the numbers anyway you like but this was the cheapest for me, however I did not look into leasing since we plan on keeping for 7+ years.
this is a 3 year loan. I can have it paid off in 36 months and drive it another 5 years without any payments.

I just did a calculation where it would have cost me $2160 more in payments if I had done a 36 month at 5.9% instead of 2.9%

as I said it's a 36 month loan zero down. We could have put something down but the 2.9% rate is less than I can get for my cash savings (5%) so the end result is Honda is subsidising my loan, meaning they are losing money by only getting 2.9%, the lowest (normal non-discount loan) is about 5.34%

Congrats on the new car.. My father drives a 06 MDX and its a great car.. We drove to Tennessee and back and it was like driving a car except your sitting higher LOL... A few days ago he told me he almost pulled the plug on the new Model.. I've seen the brochure on the new MDX and for what you get for the money its a great vehicle.. I hope he changes his minds and decides to pick it up.. GL..
