I won't choose it over any in the same class with the possible exception of the Jaguar XJ & the Phaeton .

I concur. As a driver, the BMW and the Mercedes seem like cars where you would rather be in the back seat than the front seat. In the Maserati, the front seat is the place to be. Must be the "Italian-ness" of the car. I won't pay $100,000 to drive a car and feel like a chauffeur!
Also interesting is the upcoming Maserati Gran Turismo. I remember reading an article where people would think that it was worth a lot more than it actually was. People were thinking that it was Ferrari/Aston Martin money when it actually is just Jaguar money. That is clever marketing.

I am seeing more and more Maserati's now in Montreal, I still see more S-classes than anything else though.
I would like to see the LS600hL go up against this.
Maserati Quattroporte Executive GT: $122,400 US
Lexus LS600hL Executive-Class Seating Package II: $120,185 US
One thing I would rather see more Quattroporte than S-class or 7-series on the road.

The current Maserati line up seems to be the counterbalance to Ferrari's success.
Things are so bad that Ernie Boch Jr (who owns the only F and M franchise in MA0 advertises the 2006 Qporte (maybe a leftover)for about $27K under sticker.
I do think the next gen cars will be a whole lot better and the cousin, Alfa 8C will score big.

People don't care how much the 8C going to cost because its italian and Ferrari helped out. If its a japanese supercar people can't understand why it will cost so much or says **** about it if it happens too have way too much technology.
