wow, impressive. Push button start, new instrument panel design (cool tach), the silver buttons with red illumination is similar to a Subaru...and the wood actually doesn't look half bad. The shifter though it's a bit weird. I usually don't like those with the release buttons on both sides.

One thing I do not understand though is Hyundai/Kia's strategy for the market. It seems like Hyundai is slightly more upscale than Kia, but yet Hyundai is still a mainstream brand so...where does that leave Kia? How are their cars not essentially competing with eachother when they are on the same platforms with the same engines, sharing only cosmetic differences? Like a Ford/Mercury relationship where one is slightly more jazzed up inside.
Only thing I can gather is that Hyundai plans to really venture upmarket (Genesis, new RWD coupe, and their cars are just getting much nicer all together) while they leave Kia to do battle with the other mainstream brands? That considered, this new Kia looks very upscale for any sort of mainstream market but I guess we need to see the entire thing before jumping to conclusions.
