At one time early in the 20th century, 50% of all Rolls Royce cars sold went to Maharajas in India - so luxury cars have long been appreciated on the sub-continent.

Doesn't matter who owns Jag, IMO, as long as they keep that nice Burled Walnut wood and Connally leather......that is what has always made a Jag a Jag. Unfortunately, the new XK series seems to be doing away with the traditional wood......some versions hame metallic trim.
I guess that's how Ford is going to say good-bye to Jaguar......Ta-Ta.

Tradition, heritage, breeding, whatever you call it, Jag had it in spades. It looks like that's gone and forgotten.

Why on earth would a change of ownership from US to Indian control affect tradition, heritage, breeding etc? Are you saying Indians appreciate these things less than Americans? BTW Connolly Leather company ceased trading in 2002.

This may upset you a bit -- but the world's RICHEST MAN is Indian...and he was poor as hell ... not born rich...a truly self made man... Mukesh Ambani is his name if you care to google.
Here is the updated news....
