ES is always a good choice.

You might be able to find an '05 Legacy with leather for $15k. A very smooth ride and they get around 30-32ish hwy. Pretty good for AWD.

I ended up getting a 2002 Avalon XLS in the end (if anybodys interested).

Yep its very bland looking but we love it so far (had it for 3 weeks now) Its a creampuff 1 (old man) owner with only 40k miles, all receipts, its like brand new inside. Very smooth and a quiet comfy ride.

The Lexus' we looked at for our budget had alot higher miles and the interiors were showing it.

Has the leather and the very impressive 7 speaker JBL setup. Lots of room inside and tons of friendly gadgets. Gas mileage is great, doing 29 mpg on regular compared to about 12 mpg on Premium in the Mercedes V8 we had before. The savings start adding up quick.

Very impressed so far with our first Toyota. This should keep us happy 3/4 years then hopefully step up to a Lexus.

Thanks everyone.

Congragulations.

I can think of a lot of worse ways to drive home after a hard days' work, when you're tired, than in a nice Avalon.

Just remember to keep the oil and filter changed....that is very important on those older Avalon V6's.
