The GS resemblance in side profile and the A-pillar backward is really sort of...shocking. They look exactly alike.
I don't not like this car, but it looks too derivative to be a Jaguar. Jags should be stop you in your tracks, no doubt about it...JAGUAR. This does not have that sort of design.

Looks like a GS with a worse front end and some side vents. I cannot believe this. My love for Jag is going down the drain.
The interior is not great either but the gear selector i a nice trick!
You would think the GS was some sort of grand design the way its been copeied to death.

Well, I for one think this car looks fantastic. It's not your normal Jaguar, and it's not supposed to be. I don't really see where you all are getting the GS influence from. I think it looks more like a Jaguar XK (from the side) and an Aston Martin (from the back) if anything. I mean, there ARE other cars out there with coupe like profiles...
From some angles, the front looks weird, but from others, it looks just right. A result of the European pedestrian laws, I suspect, made the front end the way it is, as opposed to the sharper, meaner, more forward-thrusting front end of the concept. Fair enough.
The interior... I can't decide whether I like it or dislike it. It's got some uber-trick lighting, from the under-door ambient lighting to the icy blue lighting behind the buttons. And we can't forget about that cool new shifter. But the rest of the interior looks so... bland. Very square and flat, like a Lincoln. I imagine this interior would look KILLER in black, as opposed to tan.
The other good news is that, near the end of its cycle, the S-type became a BRILLIANT car to drive. Here's hoping the XF is as good or better.
All in all, I'm pretty excited for this car. Can't wait to see it in person.

Well... yeah, after you smush the GS in photoshop... post a real picture of both and you'll find that the XF's really low, coupe profile is NOT the same as GS's more upright, rounder roof.
Like I said, the only thing I see is the coupe-like roof. And there are dozens of cars out there with coupe-like roofs. The side is from an XK... and that's it?

Definitely looks GS-ish. You don't need to stretch the pic to see that. Several sites posted spyshots of the vehicle in camo, and in several cases it was mistaken for a Lexus/GS mule. Also thehollywoodextra.blogspot.com thought it looked like a GS. But that's not a bad thing, the GS is a very nicely designed car.
Inside however looks kinda like the A8, although based on the pictures the A8 dash seems better, making the XF one look a bit more spartan.
