That is a chipped 335i, and at altitude (as mentioned).
Do you know for sure? 0-60 for both cars stock are quite close. 4.5(m5) vs 4.8(335). The E60 M5 will indeed pull strong in the quarter. From a roll, the M5 will pull slowly ahead..
From a roll, the 335 will get murdered, stock for stock. We are talking 300 vs 500hp here and 4 extra cylinders. The M5 is a 200 mph car.
Interesting videos though.
How many cars can take out a stock 500hp 2006 Mustang Cobra? Heck, a Stock c6 Vette with 400hp mops that car up. Reason....Weight. A 335 will not be "murdered" by an M5.. It will die slowly.
From a roll is where the M5 shines. Weigh is less of a concern once you're rolling, and the M5's makes most of its power near redline. I'm not surprised if the 335i is chipped if what picus said is true.

Weight has nothing to do with racing a car from a roll or at top speed. What you need is more power and better aerodynamics.

Up until the speed where the engine can't overcome the aerodynamic drag of the car, more weight will always negatively affect the acceleration rate of the car.
