Infiniti Q to make a comeback in 2010, QX to get a redesign

Posted on: August 20th, 2007

We just told you Friday about Infiniti’s future product plans after the launch of the brand new Infiniti EX. Just to recap, the 2009 Infiniti FX series will get a complete redesign when it debuts at the Geneva Auto Show in 2008. The Infiniti M, which just received a minor facelift for 2008, will see a total redesign in 2010.

Automotive News has just reported today that Infiniti will be bringing back its flagship sedan, the Infiniti Q, with a total redesign for the 2009 and 2010 model year.

Another Q from Infiniti, the QX full-sized SUV, will also see a complete redesign at the same time.

Infiniti is currently enjoying a 10 percent increase (over 2006) in sales for the first half of 2007.

New Q sounds nice but they should just drop the QX as that type of vehicle does not belong in the Infiniti lineup or any luxury lineup, just give it to Nissan as a flagship version of the Armada. There is just not a big market for that type of vehicle especially with the price of gas these days and people wanting smaller vehicles. Instead they should concentrate on a larger v-8 luxury/sports coupe to compete against the Merc SL, BMW 6 series, Jaq XK or they should do a high performance sports car since they won't be getting the GTR.

I've only liked the Q45 if it's black lowered with junction produce scara wheels

Other than that, the interior was what repelled me away from it. In fact, it's my only complaint.

Give it some harder edged lines and front fascia work and I think it will look nice. The interiors hit us middle of the road yet they were not "bad" in the sense...we're just used to the way Toyota does the layout. Bring it on...part of me wants a Q or whatever their flagship sedan will be.

That's really all that needs to be said.

The Q, while always a halfway decent car, was also always irrelevant and never posed a serious challenge to the LS, S, or 7.

A new Q would answer a question that NOBODY is asking.

I'm more interested in the small, entry-level, sub-G35 RWD sedan that has been rumored. With the 1-Series and B-Class coming, it only makes sense.
