Two different cars in too many ways. I have a 335i and I have a feeling when the IS-F comes out I'd gladly trade up. It's like the new M3; sure, a chipped 335i might be nearly as quick for a lot less money, but there are always intangibles. You can't just chip a car and judge it on straightline speed - you would have to do a solid 15k in mods to the 335i to get it "on par" with a new M3 on the track, and I suspect the IS-F will be similar.
(procede, downpipes, cat back, stiffer sways, coilovers, better wheels/tires, bbks and of course LSD just to start, that's 13k ish right there Sure, it's be *****in', but no warranty, no ability to pass an e-test...).

Lot of misinformation in this thread.
Procede is $1500 including C-reader. Without C-reader is less.
335i should not compare to a IS-F. 335i is less money. Modded 335i vs. IS-F? Sure, if you want to compare a modded vs. stock car. Forced Induction cars will generally respond more easily to mods than a naturally aspirated cars. As to the comment that said BMW needed two turbos blah blah blah. Well, the older E46 M3 made more HP naturally aspirated. BMW didn't "need" to use turbos, they just decided to. There are different ways to go about making HP. My best guess is, a Procede/Downpipe 335i would beat an IS-F in a straight line. That though, is a guess.
BMW vs. Lexus, same argument all over again. Different type of cars, for different type of drivers. My best *guess* is that the IS-F will be still be be catered towards Lexus owners, the car a bit refined, and isolated to the road, with more HP.

Okay....this thread is of course speculative, but from what it looks like the 335i has enough POTENTIAL to beat the IS-F and the new M3.....however you do have to mod it and run risk of relability issues whereas the latter of the three do it stock.
Still it sucks when you get handed your cake by a car that costs 20K+ less, while looking better doing it.
Can you tell I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 335i Coupe 6sp?
