Official 2008 Accord Pictures

I have to actually have sat in both the RL & the new Accord before I would say that. Having sat in the RL, I'd say it has the best interior of the mid-luxury class (agreeing with mmarshall), & I still think it looks a class up compared to the new Accord's interior just from the pics.

This is definitely best-in-class interior. This is the benchmark Toyota has to aim to beat with the next Camry. I see this interior as being almost-Acura like. Even the exterior has some similarities to the RL. This new Accord will further hurt RL sales, and the next-gen TL needs to have a much better interior than this Accord, otherwise TL sales will be cannibalized too.

EPA estimates (calibrated to new 2008 standards):
4 cyl. auto
Accord: 21/31
Camry: 21/30, combined: 24
Altima: 23/31, combined: 26
V6 auto
Accord: 19/29
Camry: 19/28, combined: 23
Altima: 20/26, combined: 22

You make it sound like the Altima is some kind of mpg loser, but in reality the volume seller makes the best mpg in this class.
And the combined mileage of the V6 Altima is only 1 mpg behind the Camry V6.

The TL should become rear-wheel drive. That would go a long way in distancing the two cars plus the TL should become RWD like any proper sports sedan should be.

By that token, the 2008 Accord isn't officially rated either. Yet you have no problem using those estimates.

The Camry 4 cyl numbers you have are off a bit.

Toyota officially lists 2008 EPA numbers as 21/31 for the 4 cyl. Honda 4 cyl estimates are 21/31, but Edmunds listed 22/31. Could be either one really until we see the official EPA figures.
The Altima numbers you are using are estimates based on percentage drops for other makes. Those estimates are not from Nissan.
The Altima is not a fuel economy loser, but it's never been a fuel economy winner. When official numbers come out, we will see.

Thanks for the pics!
The sedan is out the window in exterior design. The interior is pretty sharp, with leather of course. The coupe's exterior is okay from all angles except for the back, which portrays too much bare metal, sort of like the Chrysler 300C.
No push button start or "smart access" entry!?! I guess I shouldn't expect it, especialy since the $50K+ MDX doesn't offer it either!

Blame European pedestrian protection regulations for the high hood. As one review said, it looks better in dark colors.
In this one, it does look awkward and reminds me of many other vehicles:
But in this one, I think it looks better.
And this - very nice:
And the coupe is just hawt:

The new Mercedes C-class also suffers from "high hood," Euro pedestrian regs are the culprit.
I like the new Accord. I liked the last one, too.
In particular, the Coupe is pretty sweet.
