Default 2009 BMW Z4 Shows its Nose

2009 BMW Z4 Shows its Nose

Not the Z9

Over the past few months there were quite some heated debates about whether the covered up BMW prototype was the new generation Z4 or an entirely new roadster. After a lot of contemplating, we can now safely say that it was the Z4 after all. And we have these fresh-from-the-Nurburgring spy photos to prove it.

A few things stand out, but mostly that the prototype has lost its hard-plastic nose cover and is now only wearing flimsy ducktape but clearly showing the kidney grill we learned to love. The remainder of the car is still clad in the hard-plastic coverings and we can only hope that it will loose some more camouflage on its next round on the Ring.

They are wrong. That hood is WAY to long for just a I-6 or even their compact V-8. Might be their V-10 under there...

BMW used to be wonderful understated luxury. With their huge butts and grills, they are the German Bling.

No thanks. Z3 for me.

Would that be the intercooler from the 335i just underneath the license plate?

That engine in that that car could be very cool!

Looks like the N54 in there. Current hood is almost that long.

All the Bangle designed Bimmers have long hoods. Looks are subjective, but i like it. This new Z4 should be a blast to drive. The current one will be a great used car value. Seen one for 19k in my area. Hurry up and buy lol..

Wow, this picture does show how long the hood is-almost half of the car!

long hood is fine, but Z4 is the worth looking Bimmer IMO. They can't save it... I feel bad since I drove my friend's Z4 3.0, and it is a blast to drive.

I actually like the Z4. Would I buy it? No. However, it does have the fun factor, albeit an expensive one.

Let the Germans create their toy. You know a bunch of people will want it...

No thanks. Z3 for me.

Why would it be too long for a 6x1 layout, but not too long for a 5x2?

Anyway, despite Bangle's obvious blunders, I think the Z4 looks pretty good and works towards the future (always thought the Z3 looked strange with the low rear and the horrendous side mirror placement).

I actually didn't like the Z4, this one looks promising though.

Z3 will always be my choice though

That is a mean looking front. This should be a good looking car. Seems to carry some cues from the absolutely gorgeous BMW CS concept, judging by that front nose.
