My daily driver is a 1995 Toyota Camry

This is not my actual car, but it looks just like it, except mine hasn't been washed for a few months now. But whatever, all Camry's look the same

Anyway, here's what happened the other day

I'm so happy! You're always hearing about Toyota's going 300k miles, but when its your car that does it, the feeling is just that much sweeter.

The car is all original. The only problems I've had are

- Radiator -- had to replace it twice within the past year
- Windows -- The motor had to be replaced on the driver side
- Other front passenger window -- It keeps getting stuck
- Moonroof -- I think it's leaking

This is by far the most reliable car I've ever had. You can blast the Camry all you want for being bland, but this car is super reliable, when properly maintained.

Just wanted to say and if you need a daily driver, get a Camry

happening with my gx, thing is lexus says it is common when you go thru those gas station car washes *sigh* not sure if they fixed it though, even after i asked them about it.

300k and still running thats great, now we just need to find a 1,000,000 mile Toyota that still in running condition. Seeing someone did that with a Saab and got a new one, if I remember correctly.

My camry only has 84k miles... and it's much older than your's. The LS still has "low miles" too... only 184k.

Wow, congrats on that feat! Your list of trouble areas are pretty good for that many miles. No problems with your power door lock actuator, huh? Damn RX33... uh, nevermind

my dad had a 96 camry V6 back in the day
he put on like 100k in just 4~5 years and sold it
when he sold it, it was still rock solid
toyota camry's are pretty unbreakable

having a camry (90 V6 ) i can tell you that the reason the window is getting stuck is probably due to old+expanded rubber


my camry's currently getting ready for a light overhaul, just had the infamous valve cover gaskets fixed (would have done it myself but i HATE working on fwd car engines) and gunna do the front lower balljoints and LCA bushings soon along withthe brakes

juss needa find someone to make me some custom hub rings for my supa-cheap wheels

That generation Camry is the best Camry IMO, from there on it's all downhill, especially the current Camry is awful.

Bought the car in 2000 and it already had 112k miles. Back then my father had a 1 gen Camry and it was also reliable. Sick and tired of driving and fixing Ford’s, I made the jump to Toyota. Drove around in it for 17 months and then my father gets rid of his Camry. Since he couldn’t find a good one and I was looking to upgrade to a (then) new Tacoma, I sold it to my father at 123k miles.

He puts on a ton of miles on it (Travels back from northern to southern Cali often)

Then in early 2004, he has a new ride and wants to get rid of it. OK, now I am in need of a daily driver and he gives it back to me, this time, at 240k miles. And the car has been with me ever since

As for the power door locks, I have noticed that sometimes, you have to press lock twice in order for the driver side door lock to work, but every other door locks on first.

I agree that this generation Camry is the best. This is probably the closest a Toyota Camry will ever get to a Lexus. The interior is really better than a lot of american luxury cars. Fit and finish is also great. My only real complaint about this car is lack of power, but the V6 version is has adequate power for daily driving. 0-60 in 11 seconds (Pretty sure it's slower now after this many miles) makes for uninspiring merges onto the highway.

Congratulations on hitting 300,000 miles on your 1995 Toyota Camry! I hope you continue to drive many more miles with your Camry.

I too hit 300,000 miles on my 1996 ES 300 a few weeks ago. I replaced my radiator once, changed my timing belt three times (every 90,000 miles), replaced the motor on the driver side window, replaced both motor mounts, changed the oil every 5,000 miles. I still have the original engine and transmission and both do not leak.

My father has a 92 corolla. 247K ant it runs like a top. He drove it to south Texas last year and it averaged 47MPG!!!!! I replaced all the seals 2 years ago (most were not leaking) water pump (again not leaking) with the T-belt. New struts and mounts. I don't know if it helps but we run that "Z-max" and there is NO bucket noise. NONE.
