You're thinking of a CLS63 and your concern is about gas mileage? Surely you jest.

I like the CLS exterior most of the time, except when I think of bananas...anyhow it's really sleek on the outside, but inside it feels cramped to me. It's also the antithesis of Benz history where the engineering came first over the looks, but that era has long since passed.

I did a 180 on this car. When I first saw pictures, I thought it was the ugliest sedan since the Infiniti J30. But upon seeing it in real life, I couldn't have been more wrong. I'd take it over any sedan today (if reliability wasn't an issue).

Yes hell yes! A coworker bought one a couple of years ago, it was the CLS500 in black. Still a stunner to this day! Wow!

The CLS has to look badass like that. It's god's daily driver. He'll want nothing less.

To be honest the CLS doesn't quite do it for me.
It's a sexy idea for a car, and I dig that, but I feel like it falls short in practicality.
The crazy slope of the rear roofline makes the rear seat awkward and almost claustrophobic feeling. The rear of the car looks like a mess and doesn't flow well to the front of the car. The interior just looks like a mess to me. Reliability is mediocre, residual values are reflective.

Overall it's like the car has the functionality of a Coupe but it doesn't have the sexiness of one and is very overweight.
Oh well, I'm in the minority, I know

Gorgeous car, especially in black or white. One of the better looking cars on the road today IMHO.

I still think whoever at Mercedes coined the phrase "4 door coupe" needs to be kicked in the 'nads though.

Love it since I saw it in person for the first time, especially with AMG kit, I would pick it over the 6 series coupe for looks alone.

offtopic, but what're you getting in your M45? My mother makes 14.1 and she drives like an old lady.

I was closely comparing a CL and the CLS. A cls happened to be next to the cl and it hit me that they're close in length, both a 2+2, rear sloping roofline, dimension's almost the same.

The biggest difference physically is the way how you enter and exit from the rear. The cls with the extra 2 door makes it much easier than the cl.
Off course they're different in class, but practicality (in a coupe???) and design wise, the cls is better.

I used to bash it as a recycled overpriced E class, but no more

If you want to talk overweight, check out the SL

The SL is a hardtop convertible so it's heavy, I would still rather have the SL & the CL (price independent) from the Benz lineup over the CLS though.
