I remember when my friend bought his. He went to the MBZ dealer to buy a CLK500 Cabriolet, test drove it, saw a CLS (black w/red interior) was offered a test drive and when we got back decided that was the car he was going to buy. I've always thought it was a good looking car and IMO has a lot of potential to look beautiful (even in stock form) or atrocious as seen in a couple of those pics.
Though I love the looks of the CLS car there is still something about an AMG E class and previous gen CL Class that I can't ignore...
I actually thought of getting one a year ago instead of the LS.
I'm happy (and sad) to hear that the resale value is quite approachable.
Honestly Phil if I were you I would have gotten that instead. I think its the nicest Mercedes since the W124 and if I had the CASH I would look into it seriously.
