Post German luxury SUVs. Made in everywhere BUT Germany.

Audi Q7 (produced in Bratislava, Slovakia)
BMW X3 (produced by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria)
BMW X5 (produced in Spartanburg, South Carolina)
Mercedes-Benz M-Class (produced in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama)
Mercedes-Benz GL-Class (produced in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama)
Porsche Cayenne (produced in Bratislava, Slovakia)
Volkswagen Touareg (produced in Bratislava, Slovakia)

Very interesting. I am sure the majority are sold in America as well.

Are GX, LX, and some RX's all made in Japan, with the other portion of RX's coming from Ontario?

The thing is, SUVs are mostly sold in American markets. They don't do that well in other countries.

Might as well have German automakers advertize German cars for the rest of the world, rather than pleasing a few gas-guzzling Yanks...

There are a few exceptions like the Land Cruiser, which is an SUV (ironically enough) that is very popular overseas in worldwide markets, yet sells at low volumes in North America.

I'm just speculating, but I'd imagine the X3 sells way more overseas than the X5 due to it's more compact size.

I see a lot more (and I mean a LOT) X5s over the X3 here. But that's only in Sydney, dunno about everywhere else. It seems like the mid-size SUV's are the most popular (judging from what I can see on the roads... Prados/GX470, X5s, Discovery3s, X5s etc.) compared to the bigger ones like Range Rovers (although there's a lot of Landcruisers).

You see a lot more X5s than X3s over here as well. The X3 was universally panned when it came out due to its cheap build quality and dodgy styling. That and being nearly as expensive as a X5 anyway. It didn't help that Top Gear did a hatchet job on it as well causing dozens of cancelled orders at dealerships. The quality is better now though.

I wonder if the new Lambo SUV will be made in Bratislava, Slovakia as well even though it's Italian.
