Surprised to see Pontiac Aztek in there. I thought it was such an awesome car, and set a really high standard of ugliness for many many years for the automotive industry. Gave many other automakers something to catch up to.

The Iron Duke wasn't the model name, it's the nickname for one of the worst engines of all time

Isn't the Jaguar X-Type basically a Ford Taurus or the European version the Ford Mondeo?

I don't know how they arrived at this list. Obviously there were some monumentally BAD vehicles here, that either dissolved in a puddle of rust, or succumbed to a wide variety of gremlins within a short time of their introduction. Some were incredibly ugly.
The majority of these were marketing fiascoes, not necessarily bad cars. The Edsel, Corvair and several others were quite good cars but some bad PR and cowardly manufacturers who left them to twist in the wind were more responsible than their design or build quality. Compared to their contemporaries, some of these could have done quite well had their companies not cut and run.
Certainly there were many worse cars than the Pinto - hundreds of thousands were on the road. The Chrysler/DeSoto Airflow was an engineering breakthrough, but "weird" (for its day) styling killed it. The Cadillac Cimmaron was fine as a Chevrolet, but slathering it with leather and "features" to sell it as a $20K Caddy was not a good idea. It was never going to live up to that badge on the hood, even with the tiny V-6.

You think so? Did you know that the rear bumper *or the rear valance or something or other* had a screw pointing right at the gas tank? If you got rear ended, that screw would pierce the tank and should a spark also be caused... BOOM Huge recall.
Don't know about the SSR thou, sure its a truck that serves no purpose as a truck *like the srt-10* but it is nice as far as impracticality goes.

Weird list, some are on the dot and some are not. Then again, this is the magazine that put Tila Nguyen as one of the people of the year in last year's "Person of the Year" issue... lol
