There is already kind of performance version of 7-series - Alpina B7. It's a limited production for US though. I saw it once here on a parking lot near Venice Beach. Looks sick. So, why not to have an M7 maybe based on that Alpina-B7?
Are you sure about this? Why in the world would BMW test the current 7 series and all of their vehicles for that matter on the Nurbergring? Ever been behind the wheel of a 7? This car does not handle like a ship.
manufacturers test cars on that track all the time, that doesn't mean much. lexus made that statement before they are not making m7 coz' the 7 can't meet their performance requirement

That is called a BMW understatement.. They are known to do that. Seen any v8 m3's or turbo inline 6's lately? Ohh how they lie
Nope, the E38 didn't have it. It was wayyyyy long ago when they had 3 pedals on a 7.
E38 had a manual tranny option. But it wasnt available in the USA. Just like Audi had a manual tranny option on the previous S8 ( how I wish that was available to us in the USA in current form )
As far as an M7. Its possible, but my money is on an updated Alpina B7 again. They tested the current 7-series on the ring too. Doesnt really mean there is going to be a M7 in the future IMO.
like gferg said. watch the bmw film by clive owen, ambush
I have seen it. It is the Steptronic clutchless manual that he uses. If you're talking about the scene where he brakes before the construction zone, that camera angle likely shows a 3rd pedal because of the foot-actuated parking brake.
C'mon, does it even sound like a manual accelerating?!
Engines are getting bigger and bigger, MPG's are staying the same, Wohoo for technology!! I bet if company's wanted to they could make a car that can beat a Veyron and run off of water (Hydrogen)!! (I know they're working on it, i've seen them running cars off of water an stuff already)
