The SC300/400 were discontinued for one year because of very poor sales before the SC430 came out.
This is very interesting, did not know that.

Regardless, what they said doesn't make much sense to me, since a new SC will be a totally different car from the SC300/400/430, & it's success will mainly depend on how good the new model is.

I don't know but how come the SC300/400 lasted for almost 8 years, 1992-2000, IMO the JZZ/UZZ30 chassis is a much classier body style than the Z40 and a rear seats that is usable to a certain extent. Anyway, I hope Lexus can go back to the drawing board and redesign the SC again that can compete with the likes of the CL-Class.
